I agree with Maddow here that this is the damndest speech I ever heard from a Pres or VP. Heart, courage.....and he sure made a connection. Fox and the GOP are already trashing him for this but he really got my old gullible self. Rachel's opening says it all.....

Thanks Spaw. My wife met him a few years back. She said he was really impressive, and talked about his family as much as politics.

Thanks, Spaw. I'd seen part pf that, but not the clip from Rachel Maddow. He talked about what the press would do when the got ahold of his comment, then he said it anyway. I can't imagine anyone else connecting with that audience as well as he did, and it was easy for me to believe that's what he most cared about.

Some people claim there's no such thing as an honest politician. Joe Biden is one exception. You may like him or not, but he says what he means (sometimes too well). I like him.... it took years to sort it out, but I'd trust him if he became president.

He could become president. Even though he's honest.

A lot of folks put Biden down, and make fun of him, but I've always admired him as one of the few genuinely human politicians around. I'm willing to bet no one else could have connected with that audience the way he did.   I'd seen a bit of this on the news, but good on Maddow for playing the extended clip.

He was the main reason I voted for Obama.

And Bernie Sanders is another. Perhaops they oughta get together & start somethin'.

Indeed.. Bernie Sanders. I listen to everything he says.

and now that he's retiring, Barney Frank is reveling in "not having to be nice to people I don't like."
Barney kinda calls things like he sees 'em... and few understand the financial trails better.

But look at all the fun teabaggers who want to come to the senate.....like the asshole from Indiana who says a compromise is the Dems doing it his way! WE have a little twerp in Ohio trying for Sherrod Brown's seat....another solid citizen. This Taylor clown has skipped out on all of his duties after being elected treasurer to campaign for a senate seat. Well, he did take time to take a couple of illegal contributions and appoint a couple of his friends to $150,000 a year jobs for which neither had any training or experience!

Joe Biden caught my attention a long time back and though he's gone through some tough stretches politically (and personally) he has truly been a solid citizen in the senate and as VP.
