Davy wrote it about Thatcher's poll tax which was introduced in Scotland a year earlier than over the border. It resulted in a Tory wipe out at the next election (not the song) from which they have never recovered. TF

Can anyone tell me definitively what the tax was that is the subject of the chorus in this song? I don't have this anymore - a victim of a daughters migration to Uni.
