Subject: BS: Bonzo can count! From: Bonzo3legs Date: 02 Jun 12 - 05:07 PM My wife always gives her finished yoghurt pots to 3 legged Bonzo, but one morning this week she only had one left. Bonzo just sat by the table expecting the second, and would not move - scary!! |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: frogprince Date: 02 Jun 12 - 10:35 PM Are you saying that your wife eats three little containers of yogurt each morning, and gives you the empties? And that you found yourself immobilized because she didn't have the usual number to give to you this morning? It sounds a little like you may have just invented adult onset autism. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: Jeri Date: 02 Jun 12 - 10:47 PM I suspect 3 legged Bonzo is his dog. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: GUEST,999 Date: 02 Jun 12 - 11:59 PM Dumb dog. Hold out for the liter containers. ####################### I had a dog like that: brilliant in some ways and stupid as a turnip in clover at the same time. ####################### Bonzo has seen too many reruns of 'Lassie'. ####################### How'd he lose his leg ('he' because I have male-dominance issues with women named Bonzo)? |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: Bonzo3legs Date: 03 Jun 12 - 05:08 PM All we were told by the RSPCA is that Bonzo had an accident with a car - read into that what you will, but he had been in kennels for 6 months before we rescued him. It was probably 2 years before he would look us in the eye. We have had him now for 7 years. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: GUEST,999 Date: 05 Jun 12 - 12:05 PM That line where you said "he wouldn't look us in the eye for two years" was a heart breaker. However, he sure has a sense of self-worth and pride now. This world could use more people like you doing things like that. |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: Bonzo3legs Date: 05 Jun 12 - 03:52 PM You know what makes it all worth while? It's when he walks up to where I'm sitting and puts his head on my knee! |

Subject: RE: BS: Bonzo can count! From: GUEST,999 Date: 05 Jun 12 - 06:18 PM Yeah, I hear that, B3l. I had a situation with some similarities. German Shepherd. A 'rescue dog' that was also a rescue dog. Had migratory arthritis in my ankles and knees. I couldn't walk--well, I couldn't do much of anything except moan for the ten or so days it was rampant. Caused they think by rheumatic fever when I was 20, believe it or not. I got the dog when I was about 23/4. I put a blanket on the floor and when I had to use the facilities she dragged me while I lay on the blanket. Stayed in case I needed to use her shoulders to get myself off the floor. Dragged me back to the bed. She did that 24/7, and she went out only to use the facilities herself. A few friends alternated visits to take care of that for me. There was a very close bond between us that lasted until her death at age 13. It's still there on my part. They know who their friends are. Quite an honour now I think of it. So, indeed I hear that, buddy. |
