Subject: Review: As You Like It, by WS in Central Park From: EBarnacle Date: 06 Jun 12 - 01:02 AM Lady Hillary and I waited on line this AM and got tickets for the first day of previews of this year's production of As You Like It. We believe it was reset into the 19th century, based on the weaponry and most of the clothing. The music for this production was composed by Steve Martin, in Country style and the dancing seemed to be a cross between country and English country. Many of the speeches were in patter style, emphasizing the poetry of the work. Among the musicians was Tony Trishka on banjo as part of the core on stage group. As the production runs through 30 June, I don't believe he will make it to Old Songs. If you can get tickets, either on line or by waiting in line, don't miss this production. |
