I just resubscribed from a different email address than I had been subscribed from.

I've been inactive for awhile and subscribed from an email address that is mostly listservs, newsletters and the like and doesn't get checked that often. Plus, as most of you know, I've had a lot on my plate for the past couple years.

I tried yesterday to post Tom's obit and it got kicked back twice. Glad I searched for this and found the necessary information to get back in the list's good graces.

The long version is to send and e-mail to [e-mail]
On the subject line, type "subscribe ballad-l" and send

After that, the messages will go to your in-box.

What if I use, as I do, AOL Online, ie. I don't have any E-mail software on my computer?

Even if I use the link when I sign into Aol, I don't get a prepared message...

The link should open your e-mail program with the message prepared. You send the message, and that's how you subscribe.

It's an e-mail list.

I don't remember if it was the List subscribe or the L list that I got through to get membership. No fee, only email address required.
They asked for a password, but then I was notified that I was a member, and no password req'd.

Useful site. The last entry listed a book I have wanted was on ebay, and I made a bid.

How does one actually Subscribe to Ballad-L??
The Link above just takes me to an e-mail site - but does not subscribe me??

Also - you can only look at the archive if you are a subscriber!!

The old BALLAD-L archive seems to have disappeared with the change in listserv software.

I have a backed up a copy of the BALLAD-L messages from 1999 to 2009.

All old Listserv Lists, eg both Ballad-L and Morris Discussions list,have been discontinued, as the Listserv software (or what ever) are now obsolete.
The Morris list can now be found as - [e-mail]
But as yet, I have NOT been able to find the Ballad-l list.
The new archives for morris is at

but again I can find no similar archives for the Ballad-l

I seem to be having difficulty reaching the Ballad Forum at [e-mail].
Since their IRTRAD-L Archives list is OK and some people here are contributors to the forum does anyone know of any problems?
