It all started innocently enough.... Shirley's birthday falls on a Thursday this year and one of her home town's two folk clubs arranges a special evening for her. They advertise it in the following way:-

Now here is something really special! Shirley will be presenting a shortened version of her latest multi-media show and introducing friends who include some of the best known names on the folk scene.

So far so good....
Then a Certain Folk Music Publication has put a photo of Shirley on the cover of its July issue and included two articles on this folk music icon. Well, none of this was a surprise to me but an item on page 12 under the Gigs section was a revelation.....
We were trying to keep those "friends who include some of the best known names on the folk scene." a secret so that they would be a surprise to the people who come along to this evening. However, this page 12 item blows the secrecy with an almost accurate listing of those who will be appearing. I have no idea where they obtained this information.
I have no idea where the information leak came from but if you read in the national press that I have been called to give evidence to The Leveson Inquiry on phone hacking and the folk music press, you will know that I have got to the bottom of it.

Ach you'll be fine, no one reads that magazine anyhow. So long as you don't post about it on a website no one reads, you should be fine.
