Frankie Armstrong + Lizzie Nunnery @ The Goose Is Out ! Upstairs at The Mag 29th June. Doors 7.45pm. £6 on the door.

Floorspots are very welcome.

Frankie Armstrong

Frankie Armstrong began with the skiffle boom in 1957, moving through the British folk song revival of the early 1960s, she also studied, performed and recorded with leading figures of the folk revival such as Louis Killen, Ewan MacColl and Bert Lloyd.

Since 1962, Frankie has built up a repertoire of British songs and ballads, which, along with contemporary British songs, still form the basis of her musical vocabulary. Her repertoire consists of rural, industrial, music hall and contemporary songs

I heard Frankie do a concert last summer here in the San Francisco Bay Area, after not hearing her for quite a long time (probably at least 15 years) and she was better than ever, which I would not have even thought possible. What an amazing singer and person she is.

Frankies' workshops have been popular whereever she goes, get to the gig early, looks like it may be equally so.
