... and there are Brighton to Lewes buses every 10 minutes. You would get a warm welcome at the Royal Oak on Thurs on the Elephant on Saturday if you introduce tourself to the comperes.

Further to Dave's post, The next Brighton Acoustic Session is on July 2nd when Saffron Summerfield will be the guest. It's very near Brighton Station.

At the Lord Nelson on the first Monday of most months is the Brighton Acoustic Session run by Stuart Reed

There are free singaround (anything goes)events in Brighton notably Tuesdays at the Round Georges, Wednesday at the The Pond (Tai Food upstairs as an additional attraction) and Sundays at the Mitre. These three are organised (if you can call it that) By Brighton Singers Club or members thereof.

Other than that there are many pubs putting on live music but most of it wouldn't be seen as Folk.

PM me if you want any more info

Dave

Try the Sussex Folk Guide.
You are also close to Folk at the Royal Oak, Lewes on a Thursday night (Matt Quinn tomorrow) and Lewes Saturday Folk Club (Kitty Vernon & Derek Burgess this Saturday).

The Lewes Saturday Folk Club site has a page of local free sessions ably maintained by Bryan TheSnail Creer, of this parish.

There are two trains an hour from Brighton to Lewes and the journey takes 15 minutes.

Valmai (Lewes)
