Subject: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: Tig Date: 21 Jun 12 - 12:11 PM Just found this on Facebook so copied it onto here Sam Pirt Anyone IN FINLAND have a PIANO ACCORDION I can borrow to play at the Kaustien Folk Festival?? WOULD HELP GREATLY, as I have a huge flight case and flying from heathrow, so who knows if it will work at the other end!!! Does anyone have one he could borrow? He is a brilliant musician who would take good care of it - and would rather now fly his own. |

Subject: RE: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: GUEST,999 Date: 21 Jun 12 - 01:06 PM "Kaustinen Folk Music Festival (Finnish: Kaustisen kansanmusiikkijuhlat), celebrated yearly in July in Kaustinen, Finland, is the biggest folk music and dance festival in the Nordic countries. It was first celebrated in 1968. In its first year, the festival expected 6,000 visitors. The number was over three times the estimate, though. Nowadays the festival lasts nine days and is visited by over 100,000 people. There are over 3,000 performers from Finland and other countries every year." Kaustinen is in Finland. |
Subject: RE: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: open mike Date: 21 Jun 12 - 01:23 PM there is an accordion festival in finland, so there must be accordions there.. http://www.accordions.com/finland/ http://www.accordions.com/finland/11_06_28.htm perhaps a mud elf could cahnge the thread title to Finland.. hey, Sam, would you like to post in person? |
Subject: RE: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: SINSULL Date: 21 Jun 12 - 01:41 PM That figures. Tell our elves to sort it out. Why not ask Sam's friend to move the festival to accommodate any Norway accordion donors????? |
Subject: RE: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: Eric the Viking Date: 21 Jun 12 - 05:17 PM Sorry Sam, can't help but Viking junior (Matthew) is appearing at the Harstad summer festival in Norway next week. (Just to let Yorkshire mudcattter's who know him) |
Subject: RE: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: Steve Gardham Date: 21 Jun 12 - 05:48 PM Sam has lots of contacts in Norway. I suspect he is after a piano accordion to use that will already be at Kaustinen. I also suspect that what Tig meant to say in the OP is that Sam would rather NOT fly his own. |
Subject: RE: Can anybody in Norway help Sam Pirt? From: Tig Date: 21 Jun 12 - 06:18 PM OK - so my brain has finally addled and I can't read properly. PLEASE will a gnome change the title for me, and yes, having seen how some instruments are treated by airlines I don't blame Sam for not wanting to take his own! -- got it! --mudelf |
