Subject: RE: gaelic lullaby - birds From: Jim Carroll Date: 24 Jun 12 - 06:03 AM There is an album from the School of Scottish Studies which incudes tradititional lore and bird imitations by (if memory serves me) Calum and Annie Johnston. It is No. 13 (I think) of their 'Scottish Traditions' series Jim Carroll |

Subject: RE: gaelic lullaby - birds From: MartinRyan Date: 24 Jun 12 - 02:41 AM There is certainly a well known (Irish) Gaelic lullaby called "Éiníní" - which literally means "Little Birds" - but it does not, to the best of my failing memory - involve listing names. I'll check. Regards |
Subject: gaelic lullaby - birds From: GUEST,medlan Date: 24 Jun 12 - 12:11 AM Hullo! I'd be much obliged if anyone could help. I'm looking for a Gaelic lullaby that someone I knew used to sing. I'm fairly certain it was Scots Gaelic, though I suppose it could be Irish. I think it was listing birds names. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Ta! |
