Son Dan (17) and I definitely enjoyed the movie. Judging by reactions like Dani's and others I've seen, my sense is that expectations were perhaps overloaded on this one. It was Disney/Pixar, after all.

this thread has reminded me how much I enjoyed the soundtrack to the last movie I saw, "Moonrise Kingdom".

Some lovely recordings of Britten's Noe's Fludd (or however it's spelled!) and his Young person's Guide to the Orchestra.

I've been completely unable to get the music out of my head since I saw the movie. I broke down and ordered the soundtrack last night.

I vote 'meh....'. Wanted to love it. Enjoyed her hair, that was pretty cool, but the storytelling was old dishwater.

La Luna, on the other hand, was worth the price of admission : )

J-boy and I went to see it this evening. It was nice to see a girl in a Disney movie being treated as more than a helpless princess needing to be rescued. I also loved the soundtrack, with two songs by Julie Fowlis and the score done by Patrick Doyle. And that's why this is in the music section :)
