Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: GUEST,The Bard Date: 02 Oct 13 - 06:28 PM Yep, same problem as above. I click start recording and nothing happens. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: GUEST Date: 03 Jun 13 - 06:47 AM I can't get SoundLeech to work. I was trying to record via Audacity before finding out about SoundLeech. I got as far as enabling Stereo Mix and setting it to default, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Everytime I press start leeching, nothing happens - no folder is created called IE, and nothing appears in the captures folder I've set as the default location. Help? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: GUEST,nickp (cookieless) Date: 19 Jul 12 - 08:45 AM That was. Yes, seems a useful package. 100 seconds was a bit short for a demo but it certainly works. Think I'll indulge, it's not expensive. N |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: GUEST Date: 19 Jul 12 - 06:50 AM Start Leeching has no effect. It must be the lack of 'stereo mix'. Maybe I should look at i-sound..... |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: Bonzo3legs Date: 19 Jul 12 - 04:30 AM With Sound Leech you have to right click the icon which appears in bottom right of screen, set the folder where you want to save the wav file, then click Start Leeching (I think that's what it says - I'm on my work machine now) A folder is created called IE with some other characters, and you can watch the file size increase in real time. I am using i-sound for Windows 7 at home, for which you have to pay. The password only seems to work on the PC from which payment is made - very crafty! |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: nickp Date: 18 Jul 12 - 02:24 PM Oops that was me. However, I can't get it to work with Win7 - I guess it must be the same as any other sound set up in that case. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: GUEST Date: 18 Jul 12 - 04:03 AM Interesting. Thanks Bonzo |

Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: GUEST,Ed Date: 17 Jul 12 - 12:31 PM I have to disagree with terrier. I've never got decent recordings from Audacity. Soundleech works really well on Windows 7 once you get over the fact that it only exists in the system tray. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: terrier Date: 17 Jul 12 - 11:59 AM Just tried Soundleech on Win7 and it doesn't work for me. I thought most people used Audacity on WinXP? |

Subject: Tech: Sound Leech - sound capture From: Bonzo3legs Date: 16 Jul 12 - 01:07 PM I've been trying for some time to find a way of capturing sound from the BBC Radio iplayer on my old XP computer. The only way I could do this up to now was to connect a lead between the line out and the line in sockets, which mean't that I couldn't hear the sound. I have now discovered Sound Leech (freeware), which performs its magic and records direct to a wav file, or if you must to mp3. There does not seem to be a limit on the time for which it will record. |
