I can't get SoundLeech to work. I was trying to record via Audacity before finding out about SoundLeech. I got as far as enabling Stereo Mix and setting it to default, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Everytime I press start leeching, nothing happens - no folder is created called IE, and nothing appears in the captures folder I've set as the default location.

Help?

That was. Yes, seems a useful package. 100 seconds was a bit short for a demo but it certainly works. Think I'll indulge, it's not expensive. N

Start Leeching has no effect. It must be the lack of 'stereo mix'. Maybe I should look at i-sound.....

With Sound Leech you have to right click the icon which appears in bottom right of screen, set the folder where you want to save the wav file, then click Start Leeching (I think that's what it says - I'm on my work machine now) A folder is created called IE with some other characters, and you can watch the file size increase in real time.

I am using i-sound for Windows 7 at home, for which you have to pay. The password only seems to work on the PC from which payment is made - very crafty!

Oops that was me. However, I can't get it to work with Win7 - I guess it must be the same as any other sound set up in that case.

I have to disagree with terrier. I've never got decent recordings from Audacity.

Soundleech works really well on Windows 7 once you get over the fact that it only exists in the system tray.

I've been trying for some time to find a way of capturing sound from the BBC Radio iplayer on my old XP computer. The only way I could do this up to now was to connect a lead between the line out and the line in sockets, which mean't that I couldn't hear the sound.

I have now discovered Sound Leech (freeware), which performs its magic and records direct to a wav file, or if you must to mp3. There does not seem to be a limit on the time for which it will record.
