This post is for information only; it is not a suggestion that you buy a copy. I have not seen the book and I know nothing about its quality. |
Subject: RE: help needed-"Exiles may wander...etc" From: Jim Dixon Date: 23 Jul 12 - 09:30 AM The book "Ireland Sings" by Dominic Behan (London: Essex Music, 1973) contains a song called "Exiles." I haven't seen the book, so I don't know if it's the same song. I got this information from WorldCat. If you click the link, you might find a library near you that has the book. You will need to enter your Zip Code. Or, if you can work through some university that has authorization to use the Hathi Trust Digital Library, you might be able to download it. |
Subject: RE: help needed-"Exiles may wander...etc" From: ruairiobroin Date: 23 Jul 12 - 06:30 AM Really looking for composer and if a recording of this song is available EXILES CHORUS Exiles may wander as you may suppose, they speak about old Ireland wherever they may roam. Its gift to them the land where the River Shannon flows, round the neat cottage homes in old Ireland. Verse Scotland has mountains that bow on each side, its scenery and its beauty they boast of with pride. With its heathery mountain valleys and their little river tides, yet there's none to compare to old Ireland. Verse England has maidens that are very fair, the minster he preaches they are very rare. With all their fine fashions, yet there's none to compare with the dear little maids in old Ireland |
