Just to confirm for anyone interested: Yes, Bottom House is a pub no more, now converted (two homes for sale last time I looked).

Oh, and the Albion Club also closed, quite some time ago.

I challenge the Endeavour to beat this during Whitby Folk week!

Kevin Young of Colleens Fancy will be presenting a cheque for over £4000 to the RNLI on Friday the 31st of August in the Empress Pub on Alfred Gelder Street, Hull. This is from his 24hr sing on the 20/21st of July 2012.

Come on you have a whole week to beat this magnificent effort! Well done Kevin!

Yes. Well done Kevin.
On the subject of singarounds.
The Roaring Forties will be running a Singaround from 1 to 3 on Saturday(the 18th) in The Endeavour. As far as I know, as well as Jim and Graeme's afternoon sessions and Les and Maggie's later sessions ,there will be "official" singarounds in the Endeavour each night between 5 and 7 run by various different guests. I know i am definitely running one on Friday between 5 and 7

Thanks everyone for this really useful up-to-date info ...
Yes, Ray, according to the programme Jim & Graham start their daily shanty & sea song sessions in the Endeavour on Sunday 1pm to 3pm with a theme of "Outward Bound" songs. [BTW, yes I do have a programme down here in Alcester near Stratford-upon-Avon!]
See you there ...

Straight from the horse's mouth (the landlord, Wesley!).
Every evening, from Saturday 18th - 25th, there will be an open session led by 'Perish the Thought' (you know who they are!), with the exception of Wednesday 22nd.
Apparently there are many sessions of various types being held during the day - see programme, notice boards, flyers for further info. Evening sessions will kick off about 7:00 - 7:30 pm each night.
The ale and apple juice is real, and well priced.
Let's have a Folkin' good time!

Charliestu & friends

Now that's the third time you've told me I know who they are.
I don't.

Perish the Thought are two cheeky little rascals who go by the names of Chris & Stuart. They say of themselves that they are both fine upstanding gentlemen ......... except when they're drunk and falling over.
