Subject: sheffield tune/song sessions From: johncharles Date: 24 Jul 12 - 10:45 AM Is the grapes in sheffield still open for live music. Are there any sessions elsewhere in sheffield tonight Cheers John |
Subject: RE: sheffield tune/song sessions From: YorkshireYankee Date: 24 Jul 12 - 03:52 PM Hi John, Hope this answer isn't too late for you. The Grapes still has sessions M-F at 9 pm (according to my Jun-Aug 2012 issue of Stirrings, a publication I highly recommend!). Its website includes a handy diary which shows there is also apparently a session tonight at the White Lion -- for Singers and Musicians. Hope this helps... |

Subject: RE: sheffield tune/song sessions From: johncharles Date: 25 Jul 12 - 04:49 AM Ended up in Fagans and as luck would have it Raymond Greenoaken was present and I acquired a copy of Stirrings. |

Subject: RE: sheffield tune/song sessions From: YorkshireYankee Date: 25 Jul 12 - 09:01 AM Will, Fagan's is amazing, isn't it? Ray, apparently the White Lion is in Sheffield city centre, on London Road. Here's the website: http://www.whitelionsheffield.co.uk/ (I say "apparently" because even though I live in Sheffield, I've never noticed it before, and had no idea where it was 'til I googled it... so much for my powers of observation!) John, glad you managed to find yourself a session; even better that you bumped into Raymond! |
