Subject: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Stilly River Sage Date: 27 Jul 12 - 10:09 AM This was posted in another thread by a friend of our perpetual guest Guest From Sanity. Some of you may have had arguments with him over the years, but we prefer to keep our arguing with healthy people, so I hope the recuperation is speedy. Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: catspaw49 Date: 27 Jul 12 - 05:36 PM Welcome to the Cardiac Club. Did you sneeze? Ya' know they have you all prepared on the coughing and they want you to cough post op to help keep the lungs clear and all but nobody mentions sneezing. I wsa several days post op when I felt the sneeze coming. In that nanosecond before the sneeze exploded my mind went through all these horrendous thoughts which pretty much went like this: IF a cough feels so damn bad, and it does, how will I live through this damn sneeze? Later as the nurse was shoveling up the formless blob that had previously been my body I tried to ask why the hell nobody told me about sneezing. I got no answer, just a small grin with a hint of evil.................. Spaw |

Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Jeri Date: 28 Jul 12 - 06:50 PM Please don't attack someone in a "get well soon" thread. "Kick him when he's down" attack posts here are likely to be deleted. |
Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Stilly River Sage Date: 28 Jul 12 - 08:46 PM I've had more arguments with him that many of you here, but there is a glimmer of the musician that comes through at times and like Jeri said, you just don't kick someone when they're down. Now if all of the surgery and drugs mellow the man, I will be eternally grateful! SRS |

Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: GUEST,A friend of GFS Date: 29 Jul 12 - 04:11 AM Hello, again. Visited Michael, and relayed all of the posts. I must tell you, that he has an indestructible sense of humour, for he was laughing through some of them. Could not understand the comments about being attacked, because he really related to 'catspaws 49's' and thought it a great parody mixed with 'somebody who has been there'; His words. I must say, he has quite a wonderful a story to tell, considering that he 'didn't care if he died, or not'! The staff at the hospital, cannot bring themselves to understand, why his wit, and return with a quick, humorous, incisive comeback, comes before his personal well-being! Along with that, he wrote out on these form cards, compliments to the hospital directors, in regards to various caregivers, and included a personal notation to them, that very much touched them, some to well up in tears! As so far as his physical condition, and progress, I was advised, not to report much, because he is in a period of time being very vulnerable, of getting a heart attack, though I can report, that he was brought to the hospital, without having one. But from what I understand, he did not have to wait long. He says for Bobert, not to worry, he will get your CD to the radio stations, one NPR, one commercial, when he can get up, and into public, again and we made an agreement that if something happens to him, that he won't be able to personally do it, I will, personally! Because of my schedules, and where I am now, I'm being welcomed at a private residence, by invitation, someone else may be taking my place with this, but until then, I will, assuming that we will be in close proximity to him. (At least within 650 kilometres). I'm sorry not to be able to report much more, other that to say that he is in great spirits,' not out of the woods', yet, and against his physicians instructions, going into public, to play for a group that has been helping his grandchildren, while their parents, have been at the hospital, as a mini 'Thank You' concert! He is still taped up!and on oxygen, for Lord's sakes! And if you think I'm jesting, he's already made arrangements for some people to go into his studio, load his piano-synth, with sound reinforcement into his truck, and have it delivered! He can barely get up! He wishes you all the best Spiritually, musically, and not to get lost into politics. He says he might be able to be online, perhaps at the end of this coming week. They will not allow him a computer in his room, and have blocked incoming calls. He may tell you about that, later. It is unbelievable!, but not in a bad way. Until the next correspondence, Slan go foill, M. N. |
Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Stilly River Sage Date: 29 Jul 12 - 08:09 AM Dear friend of GfS, the confusion is simple to remedy: the "attack" posts were removed by a moderator. When he's up and well again is soon enough to go hammer and tongs at each other. You can laugh at what Catspaw wrote without wondering at a subtext, he wasn't the guilty party. But please do convey Bobear's suggestions about eschewing smoking. SRS |
Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Bobert Date: 29 Jul 12 - 09:09 AM Well, glad to read that GfinS is on the mend but, sheet fire M.N., tell the knucklehead to get out of the woods before going back to jogging... I mean, lotta stuff to trip over in the woods... Here's the deal: 1. Heal 2. Eat well (correctly) 3. No f'n smokin' 4. Moderation with alcohol 5. Get in that couple mile walk every day 6. Take yer meds 7. Play nicer with people in the Mudpit 8. Eat yer peas 9. Go to bed at bedtime 10. Take a power nap every day after lunch There's the Bobert Ten Point Plan for GfinS... B~ |

Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Songwronger Date: 31 Jul 12 - 06:02 PM Damn. Good luck, man. Get your balanced perspective back here soon. You see through the partisan BS and get blasted for talking about it, but people need to hear the things you say. |
Subject: RE: Get Well Soon - Guest from Sanity From: Janie Date: 31 Jul 12 - 08:03 PM I don't know if we are being "spoofed" or not, but the thought has occurred to me. M.N.'s postings are remarkably similar to GfS in tone, structure, plaudits for the amazingly wonderful characteristics of"Sane One," and yes, punctuation. I may not ever know. I figure it never harms me to honestly wish some one healing. If indeed you have been in medical dire straits, Michael, I continue to send good thoughts for your healing. If you are spoofing us and preying on this community for your own amusement, I still honestly direct good thoughts to you for your healing. |
