Great song. I always get a few laughs with it, especially since the rest of the group tends to clown around behind me while I'm singing it. The melody is basically the same as "In the Garden WHere The Praties Grow".

That song "Why Paddy's Not At Work Today" was actually adapted from part of a speech delivered by Gerard Hofnung to (I think) a College at Cambridge University. It's not done in Rhyme but in my opinion is far funnier than any rendition of the song I have ever heard. It used to be available on LP but I don't know if it survived the transition to CD's.
