Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Charley Noble Date: 25 Oct 12 - 06:20 PM I'm not sure anyone has any interest left to view some Getaway photos I just edited and posted on Facebook from the Saturday evening concert but here's the link: Click here for PIXS! Some of these are quite good! JudyB took all of these. We have another set for the Sunday evening concert but it will be a couple of more weeks before I find time to edit and post those. Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Janie Date: 19 Oct 12 - 06:30 PM What a hoot! Whoddathunk it from our heavenly harpist. (although I did note the angel chorus.) Not sure how I missed that live. I thought I saw all of both concerts. |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Genie Date: 19 Oct 12 - 03:28 AM Well, here's the first installment (from Micca's videos, I think). It's "Mitt (David Scheim) Romney" singing "King Of The Dole." |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Janie Date: 18 Oct 12 - 11:19 PM hmmm. Post didn't "take". Assuming the camera Micca so ably manned during the concerts was his, I doubt he will be posting up anything until he returns to the UK, which I think is early next week. Ms. Genie? |

Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Charley Noble Date: 16 Oct 12 - 01:08 PM Kendall- Try scrolling up to my two Getaway PIXS announcement posts on this thread. I don't want to clutter up this threat with multiple links. Or you could go to my Facebook page and you should see the current Getaway albums on my front page. Charley Noble |

Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: kendall Date: 16 Oct 12 - 11:50 AM I'm on facebook. How do I see them? |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Charley Noble Date: 16 Oct 12 - 09:26 AM Jeri et al- Yes, the photo links only seems to work for Facebook members. I have similar problems with several of the other photo links folks have posted. We all need to make decisions which social networks we want to belong to, and what privacy options we invoke when we do. I'll poke around on Facebook some more and see if I can rediscover their "public link" for non-members, if it's still an option. The link to the Meteora PIXS actually shows two sets of photos, one taken at the Peace Lodge and one taken at the Memorial Hall concert on Saturday. Charley Noble |

Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: ClaireBear Date: 15 Oct 12 - 01:30 PM I am more grateful every year for the brief interlude of sanity (let's call it that, anyway, even though we all know that isn't quite what I mean) afforded by the FSGW Getaway in a year that otherwise spins entirely out of my control. Thank you Nancy and all the rest of the weekend organizers. I salute you. And thank you for the 100th time at least for making us weary Mudcatters so welcome. To all my fellow revelers in the wonderful atmosphere of the Getaway, thank you for being there and letting me be there with you. It is a privilege to know you, to sing with you, and (not naming any names) to suffer through sleep deprivation with you (and thanks for letting me borrow your critical ears each fall to improve my weak songwriting skills). Let's do it all again next year! Claire |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: GUEST,Dani Date: 14 Oct 12 - 09:05 PM I know, right? Was that Nu-Grape? It was hypnotizing, super-sweet: but then I've always been a fan : ) I think you're right... it's in the water, and the community. It's allowed/encouraged/helped us to grow and warm and open. Dani |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: GUEST,Sandrolin Date: 14 Oct 12 - 06:52 PM Dani--- I thought that was your own womb cradle/bundle of joy. :) ... Everytime you played there was a ground swell of happy....o those bells !!! Dani you friggin nailed *punctuation poetry*.. i'm not sure if it is my imagination or limited 8 yrs of attendence.. but i believe the Getaway has evolved into more and more *forgiving* interactive jammy (!) arenas. Could be in the water. Yeah well... on that note of forgiveness and experimentation It was through them waters that jim Bunch belly floated into an experimental singing mode. .... WHEW! ... Did others catch that surprise?... out of a corner of the room & I couldn't nail where that voice was coming from at first... there was "wash tub Jim" with his best kept secret- killer -novelty tunes skipping and galloping in our ears... ... Later Jim confided that he had never crooned that way or those songs beyond his shower stall..... Sandrolin |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: GUEST,Dani Date: 14 Oct 12 - 06:03 PM Sandrolin, if folks let me play that god-awful contraption of Jim's without picking me up and throwing me headlong through the cabin door, your spoons'll get along just fine : ) Dani |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: GUEST,Sandrolin Koppel Date: 14 Oct 12 - 10:56 AM Ditto what they said... thanks --- Nancy (superb program this year) , Kathy Mack (patiently tolerating my 1 1/2 hr phone call) , Charlie B. (last year hand delivering items from lost and found to our home address, Judy O. ( great snacks and great coffee -- wow did anyone else witness that *dreamy wild woman (!)* song she sang Saturday night wee hour in the Peace Cabin -- Judy if you are out there what was the name or were you asleep ?, hey,was I dreaming ?, -- deep breath-- GOTTA GO PUBLIC WITH THIS ONE- thanks to the musicians who allow frog voices (like mine) sort of croak along with you on chorus' late at night .... and dang if you allow spoons and other interactive noises --- Obviously there is a line on this -- I hope you don't consider me disrespectful... Yeah well thank you to the self -less of you ... who play to bring out the best in others. You shine ! Sandrolin |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: Amos Date: 14 Oct 12 - 09:46 AM The Calico Dress recording is delayed because I want to redo it. Soon! A |
Subject: RE: FSGW Getaway 2012 From: GUEST Date: 14 Oct 12 - 07:48 AM I love the Getaway. It is a long way from God's country, but the 12 hour drive is worth it. Meteora was a real high for me, I knew they would be well received and they certainly were. |
