Our monthly sea shanty, forebitter, and ballad session will take place this Saturday, August 18th, at The Press Room on Daniel Street, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM.

Tom has been graduated to using just a cane to navigate -- both walker and wheelchair are more or less relegated to home use (but not entirely out of our lives yet).

Have it on reliable sources that the peripatetic gnome (Micca) will be at the session and it will be truly wonderful to have him at The Press Room again.

Hope we see the regulars AND the irregulars there! Total strangers welcome as well.

Mudcat, at least for those of us above the Equator,seems to be in the midst of the August/Summer Doldrums (note nautical reference...). I think people are out and about and enjoying the weather rather than typing frantically in front of the computer.

Not sure what Saturday's weather will be here -- just checked, 77F (29C) and partly sunny. Sounds like excellent weather to sip some Guinness and raise some rafters. Hope too many gigs don't interfere...

I look forward to coming tomorrow. It's my favorite session of the month.
Hoping to lure some of the Gloucester crowd up too.

The weather looks to be cloudy, 40% chance of showers, mid 70s. Nice rainy afternoon to sing at the pub.

No, this Saturday is not going to work for me with regard to the Press Room. Two more old friends just dropped in from California and we'll be spending more quality time with them.

Rainy now, but if the past week is any indication, the sun will be out by this afternoon.

I head out in a couple hours to pick Micca up in Concord so he and Tom and I can visit for awhile before the session this afternoon.

Oops, sorry. I missed your next to last post, Charley. I was a bit concerned when you didn't arrive and I hoped nothing untoward had happened.

Glad to hear you're okay and enjoying the visit of old friends.

Too tired out right now to post about the session, but it was a really nice session. Micca was a hit and expanded his fan club. London Julie was out in force and sounded incredible.

Jacqui's back kept us at the corner table. Good to see old friends. Wonderful to see Tom walking. Lots of good music, good food (though the prices have gone up) and catching up. Justine looks very happy. The ladies made a proper fuss over Micca. LOL I want some of those pictures of my friend with his harem.

By the way, the squid tentacle is the most bitter, disgusting thing I have ever tasted! Glad it didn't pollute the Guinness. (But I needed some of Jeri's nachos to get rid of the taste in my mouth.)
