Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: theleveller Date: 18 Aug 12 - 05:32 AM "for Marx, the state was only the expressionn of the interests of the ruling ( capitalist) class...." Tug the Cox, not really the place to get into a dialectical discussion. The issue of state (or State) control was one of reasons for the split between Bakunin and the anarchists and the Marxist faction, which let to the expulsion of Bakunin and his followres from the International. Regarding this, Peter Marshall, in his 'Demanding the Impossible - A History of Anarchism', states: "According to Guillaume, those who followed Marx in advocating the ownership of collective property by the State began to be called 'State' or 'authoritarian communists', while those like Bakunin who advocated ownership directly by the workers' associations were called 'anti-authoritarian communists', 'communist federalists' or 'communist anarchists'". The battle of words and ideas between Bakunin and Marx and Engels was a bitter one. But, in the end, it centred around Bakunin's belief that the State had to be eliminated entirely, while Marx advocated State socialism. History shows that Bakunin's warnings against "centralism, State socialism, and the dictatorship of the proletariat" were correct. |

Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: Tug the Cox Date: 17 Aug 12 - 08:40 PM Leveller...0/10 for political awareness...forget Lenin, for Marx, the state was only the expressionn of the interests of the ruling ( capitalist) class....which, in his own words , would 'wither away of its own accord' once socialism was eatablished. Marxism IS an anarchism, but anarchism is an outcome, not an aim, which is the commonn ownership of the means of production and distribution of wealth, which Lenin and his state capitalists never approved of. |

Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: Janie Date: 16 Aug 12 - 07:11 PM Al, I clicked "love it" but got a bit phobic when it took me to the facebook app stuff and "sign in" using facebook. I'm a bit of a technophobe, use facebook in fits and starts, don't understand it very well, and wasn't sure if I might end up with facebook "reverbrations" beyond "loving" your tune. Can you offer some reassurance that I am not opening a can of worms for myself on facebook if I follow through? Janie, (who just figured out how to stop her e-mail being flooded with facebook notifications.) |

Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: Big Al Whittle Date: 16 Aug 12 - 03:31 PM on facebook, from theRoyal Oak Lewes Al, You ask me to vote for you in the "Support Dave Stewart Live In London" campaign - but surely that would involve me having at least heard you to allow me to have a good positive opinion of your music making. I know nothing about your musical ability, nothing about you at all apart from the fact that you sometimes make irritatingly racist comments on The Mudcat Cafe. Best Wishes So! Be warned! There's one folk club that obviously wouldn't give you the steam off their piss if you're not on the 'right on' approved list! If that's their best wishes - you just have to wonder what would consitute black vitriolic hatred. Racist! |
Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: GUEST,999 Date: 16 Aug 12 - 03:18 PM Good one, Al. I clicked the I LOVE IT button. It told me I have an app. Since I don't know what that is, I'll have it checked next time I see the doctor. Nice rhythm on it, old son. |
Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: gnu Date: 16 Aug 12 - 02:58 PM But... there was no response. I feel rejected. |
Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: gnu Date: 16 Aug 12 - 02:56 PM BTW, this fellow you speak of... sounds like a twit. I think your tunes are good. As for the women, is that what made you sad? I had a similar problem so I decided to buy lottery tickets instead. If I ever win, rejection by women won't be a problem. Oh... can I vote more than once? Assuming I actually voted, of course. |
Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: Big Al Whittle Date: 16 Aug 12 - 02:55 PM I don't know the answer to your question gnu. Generally when you press something and tell someone you love it - there tends to be a response of some kind. |
Subject: RE: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: gnu Date: 16 Aug 12 - 02:49 PM I kept pressing the "Love it" but nothing happened... is that what is supposed to happen? BTW... LOVE IT! |
Subject: Vote for Big Al Whittle -please! From: Big Al Whittle Date: 16 Aug 12 - 02:38 PM Need your votss!
