Subject: Our Time Will Arise! From: Mbo Date: 23 Oct 99 - 03:41 PM I heard this song once on the Thistle & Shamrock that I think was called "Our Time Will Arise." It was sung by a male voice (or possibly a group with a male lead singer.)I've been searching a long time for what this song actually is and who sings it. I posted before about it, but I though there may now be new Mudcatters who know what this song is. |

Subject: Lyr Add: OUR TIME WILL ARISE (Findask) From: Susan-Marie Date: 27 Oct 99 - 05:21 PM M'bolo ("hi" in ynzebi") Mbo! I've been helped so much by others answering requests like this, I'm glad I can finally return the favor. Our Time Will Arise was done by Findask, a scots duo (Willie Lindsay and Stuart Campbell) that recorded in the '80s. I was never able to get a copy of the recording (this was several years ago, I should try again using the 'net) but I did transcribe the following from my recording of the T&S show that played it:
Ch: Our time will arise, our time will arise, our time will arise some sweet day
Frustration of faces, a platform that's bleak cold and staring Chorus
We're swimming with strangers, lost in a place unfamiliar Chorus
There's no winter sunshine, no autumn leaves softly falling Chorus Since this is merely what I thought I heard, it may be incorrect in many places. Now that I look at the lyrics, they seem pretty bleak, but it is a great song to hear. |

Subject: RE: Our Time Will Arise! From: Susan-Marie Date: 27 Oct 99 - 05:47 PM AN update - a web search produced two Findask albums that I know don't have the song (Between the White Lines and Waiting For a Miracle) and another, more recent that might (No MOre Lies). I found the latter for sale at www.kgmusic.com/browsebyartist.html |

Subject: RE: Our Time Will Arise! From: Den Date: 28 Oct 99 - 08:50 PM Thats the most amazing thing about this place. It doesn't matter how obscure the request you can always count on someone to come up with an answer. I'm sure you will get the chance to return the favour Mbo if not for Susan-Marie it will be for someone else such as yourself looking for a tune or words to something that means something to them. Its happened to me before and I know that whenever I need help (and God knows that's often enough) finding a lyric or whatever I can always turn to my pals here at the mud. So keep up the good work guys. Den |
