After the abortive effort - re-scheduling:

Right: V2 BBQ - on Sat the 29th Sept at Bridge towers. ME3 9RD.

Since the garden is the result largely of the hard work of Cari Sayers, whose birthday is on the 15th (and mine is the 7th) it is a joint birthday party hence V2 (two virgos see - probably no virgins).

Bring it and burn it/drink it although there will be some house beer. Also bring it and play it and/or sing it. If the weather is inclement we will sing in the house.

Everyone Cari or I know (or indeed Jacqui knew) and every real mudcatter is invited - apart from those either of us don't like (surely they know who they are) and of course any member of the BNP or EDL or similar. Invitation transmissible subject to the above.

Age is not a condition. Terms and condition as apply (largely exclusion of liability - see below). Those too far away (or likely to get too drunk) to go home message or email me about crashing space in house, caravan, or tent in garden (or even in garage or garden shed).


Benjamin dog (the only surviving animal) has had a stroke and is doddery. If you are going to bully him - don't come. Try to resist his blandishments about food. I think he likes BBQ'd meat better than most people. If you do succumb - do not give him mustard or chillis. I will throw you out if I catch you doing that or teasing him. Dog people are safe. People who fear dogs are likely safe but may get intimidated. Liability is excluded. If he leaves presents on the grass tell me and I will remove them.

If you want to bring kids they are welcome (subject as follows) BUT you are responsible for them and I am not moving musical intruments or ornaments or hifi or computers and I will be VERY vexed if unsupervised kids break things.

Most of the locals have webbed feet and were extras in "Deliverance" but I like them. This is only half a joke. Until you are in the house, walk softly and carry a big stick.

The stones on the terrace should no longer be loose - but to be on the safe side LIABILITY IS HEREBY EXCLUDED.

The steps to the patio are uneven - Sue Leopard took a purler down (or was it up?) them one year.   LIABILITY IS HEREBY EXCLUDED.

Do NOT eat the brugmansia. Every part of this plant is poisonous. LIABILITY IS HEREBY EXCLUDED.

Do NOT eat the daturae. Every part of this plant is poisonous. LIABILITY IS HEREBY EXCLUDED.

For God's sake do not eat the adeniums. They are MUCH more poisonous than the brugs or the dats. LIABILITY IS HEREBY EXCLUDED.

Oh shit - clashes with folk ale at the GI I knew nothing about. Sorry, it's off until next year.
