Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: JennyO Date: 13 Sep 12 - 02:07 PM I've been checking dates for next year, and it appears that Swanage and Bromyard won't clash YAAAAAY!!!! So looks like it's festivals 3 weeks in a row next year - the Wail, Swanage and Bromyard. The caravan will be earning its keep! |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: banjoman Date: 12 Sep 12 - 06:56 AM The only bad part was having to pack up and make the long trek home on monday morning. Great to meet a lot of old friends and make some new ones. Sorry for those I almost ran over with the mobility scooter. Hope to make it again next year |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: Bounty Hound Date: 11 Sep 12 - 05:21 PM Brilliant weekend all round, weather was perfect, Red Lion was drunk dry, the White Swan rocked on Saturday evening, We had three fantastic gigs, particularly enjoyed 'East Anglia Sunday' with our friends 'The Larks' and 'Two Coats Colder' played to a marquee on Sunday with standing room only and sold a bucketload of CD's. Well done to John Butcher and all of the team. |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: Hesk Date: 11 Sep 12 - 01:49 PM And thank you to you and Derek for running the sessions and entertaining us so well. The Festival was in near perfect weather and the main concert with Ric Sanders, Vo Fletcher, Catherine Howe, and then Colum Sands, finishing with the Demon Barbers, was terrific entertainment. The atmosphere during the street parade of over 60 sides, and by the sea, was also excellent. |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: Herga Kitty Date: 11 Sep 12 - 10:43 AM Hesk - thanks to yourself, Mrs Hesk and everyone else who came and sang in the Red Lion sessions over the weekend, and to everyone who put money for the festival into the collections! Kitty |

Ray getting old! |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: GUEST Date: 07 Sep 12 - 12:41 PM Perfect setting and weather for a Folk Festival.. Good luck John B and all those involved. CdM |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: GUEST Date: 06 Sep 12 - 09:59 AM That's no problem Clive. Always enjoy the gigs when you are MC'ing. Many years ago I was part of a duo "Weasels Feel"(it's along story but the band Decameron sang a song 'Stoat's Grope'!) and were introduced at a squaddies gig as "Badger's Bunk-up". It was great meet up with you too last weekend. Malcolm |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: GUEST,Clive Pownceby Date: 06 Sep 12 - 07:19 AM PS ...............and not many people could dep in a 'monent' either - they'd need at least a moment or two! |
Subject: RE: Swanage Folk Festival From: GUEST,Clive Pownceby Date: 06 Sep 12 - 07:16 AM It's was great to catch 'Bish' depping at a monent's notice at last weekend's Fylde Festival even if I did variously introduce him as Martin Bispham, Mark Billington etc. Oh well, there go my chances of MCing at Dorset festivals - I've already got my coat on and left the building! |
