This cracking bit of southern soul/country > /rock/Cosmic American music is a stone classic... > > Hush > > ... and infinitely better than Deep Purple's cover version! Well, I like both versions. I digitised my Joe South 45rpm of it last year, but I first knew the song because I used to have all the Deep Purple albums up to and including Fireball, and their version was good enough to interest me in the song and to seek out the original, which I probably wouldn't have bothered to do otherwise. Probably his best song was Games People Play, a truly great song. |
