Subject: New CD for Parkinson's fndn benefit From: Desert Dancer Date: 11 Sep 12 - 12:33 PM This month sees the release of Cath, a benefit CD from a member of the Tucson, Arizona, folk music community (and co-host host of a fine house concert series). The CD is comprised of all new songs, some to traditional tunes, and written and performed in styles informed by Irish and Scottish traditional music: Cath is a CD about connections – connections between musical traditions, between cultures, and between the past and the present. "Cath" means "battle" in both the Irish and Scots Gaelic languages, and the name represents both a connection between the two countries and the fact that all the artists on the CD have given generously of their time and talent to join the battle against Parkinson's Disease. All the proceeds from the CD will be donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. ARTISTS: Aoife Clancy Beth and Jim Malcolm Dene Foye Ed Miller Jil Chambless & Scooter Muse Máirtín de Cógáin Púca Rick Ewing Robbie O'Connell Three Weird Sisters Tullamore Wild Mercy See the website for lyrics and audio samples for every song, and more information, including pre-order/purchase form. ~ Becky in Tucson |
