Subject: RE: Lyr + Chords Req: Mr Sandmann From: Peter T. Date: 26 Oct 99 - 10:11 AM Thanks, gargoyle. Always wanted that. yours, Peter T. P.S. Emmylou Harris remarked that this was the trickiest song she ever sang harmony on. |

Subject: RE: Lyr + Chords Req: Mr Sandmann From: _gargoyle Date: 26 Oct 99 - 11:13 PM For all of its cyclic simplicity...it is the "scat-off-beat" that is so powerfully difficult...I recommend that you pickup a copy of sheet music...
The difficult parts for the accompaniest ...are the "rests".... you don't want to continue past "the lead" or it appears to the ear of the audience that "another voice" (human or insturmental) has taken over "the lead."
It is easy to understand her statment...some VERY complex rhythems are within a "standard" 2/4. (And a couple off tone harmonies) |
