One of the disadvantages of Mudcat (compared with, let's say. Facebook) is that you cannot post photos, which often leaves me wondering what some of the people who post here look like. Some may wish to preserve anonymity - especially those who do not post under their own names, but it would be interesting see links to recent photos of regular posters.

I'll start the ball rolling with one that I took last week at our folk club on Mike Ainscough, who posts here as Will Fly

I'm so previous century that my first reponse was "Mudcat do posters now? Wall decorations for the discerning folkie's bedroom?"

but anyway...

what I look like (when playing musical instruments)

Is this correct or is one of the videos reversed? We need to be told!

Here, from that same folk club, is a photo of the Mudcat regular Valmai Goodyear. She is playing alongside Bryan Creer who used to post here as The Snail. Happily, he seems to have cured himself of this particular addiction. Well done Bryan!

However, it does mean that he has to go the meetings of sad, twitchy people where he has to stand up and say. "Hello. My name is Bryan and I post on Mudcat...."

blimey, I hadn't noticed that. Sadly I'm not ambidextrous. Evidently PhotoBooth (Mac software) reverses things. Weird. Wonder if there's an option on it to sort that out...

Very kind of you Vic. Fact is, if I had a dog that looked like me I'd shave its arse and teach it to walk backwards. I recently went bald thanks to some dog clippers and the picture hasn't improved. I appreciate the link you gave because unless that's an open tuning of some sort, it ain't every day ya see someone doing an A dim.

Poster from a concert that Bob Nelson (Deckman) and I did a couple of years ago.

Brace yourself!!

(Put your mouse pointer on the picture and click to expand it a bit.)

First picture recent. Bob standing, me seated with my little travel guitar. I have to use that now because I'm in a wheelchair and the right wheel of the chair gets in the way of the lower bout of a full-size guitar and throws it out of position.

The second picture is from 1959. Bob and me singing at "The Place Next Door" in Seattle. Me seated with my Tatay classic guitar, Bob standing with Martin steel-string.

I dislike having my photo taken, and even more dislike my photo being posted on the internet with or without (particularly without) my permission. On the Mudcat facebook page my profile picture is of our late lamented Belle cat - who is much better looking that I ever was, or ever will be.

Cheers

I look a bit like Michelangelo's statue of David. No, not the famous one of King David that's in all the art history books. The one of David Morelli, the bearded, bald-headed geezer who ran the pizza joint down the street from Michelangelo's studio. Michelangelo carved it from a bar of soap and gave it to David as payment for a large pie with sausage, mushrooms and onions.

Here is a pic of me (the handsome one..on the right)several years ago with Catspaw & his wife during an all-too-brief meeting where they met us for lunch.

MyOpera is an easy to use, free spot.. you don't have to use Opera to have an album....although Opera has many virtues as a browser

People my age have started looking gross.
I can't say all, and I shouldn't say most.
I've seen 'em in the grocery. I've seen 'em up close.
People my age have started looking gross.

People my age are showing some wear.
There's holes where their teeth were, and their heads have gone bare.
Their brains are shrinking, faces sinking into fat.
And as for the mirror, we won't be looking into that.

People my age have started looking gross.
Maybe not in Colorado, or up the Silicon Coast.
But back in Pennsylvania, we ate scrapple on toast.
Those were my first steps on the road to looking gross.

People my age are looking overripe.
Some are getting operations to tighten up what ain't tight.
What gravity's ruined, they try to fix with a knife.
What's pleasant in the darkness is plain scary in the light.

I'm very old and wrinkly, overweight and white-haired. I look a bit like the Grandmother in Giles' cartoons. But I'm told I have a kind face (usually by those who want 'the price of a cuppa tea' in the street!) And I'm usually smiling, as I'm very happy in my little village in the countryside with my super African husband and three cats.
