Will you be publishing it as a CD-Rom?

Apologies if this duplicates any previous posts. However I've just opened Musical Traditions magazine to find the following note on its news page.

"Camsco Music have just re-issued Sharp's English Folk Songs in the Southern Appalachians (1932 edition in 2 volumes, with a new introduction by Sheila Kay Adams), priced $25 per volume soft cover / $35 hard cover. They're available from their website: www.camscomusic.com - though they're printed in the UK, minimising transit costs and eliminating import duty."

This is phenomenal news indeed, and has got to be the most important thing which Camsco has done since they republished Bronson's Traditional Tunes of the Child Ballads a couple of years ago.

Owen

There was an earlier announcement in June this year: Sharp is Back! (though the thread didn't attract much attention - perhaps everyone has a copy!).

That thread did attract enough attention for me to buy these wonderful books.

I bought a musty, used copy of this two-volume set just before I found out about the reissue. I saw the books at the Getaway. They look great. Wish I had known about the CAMSCO reissue a bit earlier.

Just received Sharp's English Folk Songs of the Southern Appalachains from Dick, and it's a beautiful job of printing. I got the hardcover, and it's well worth the few extra bucks over the softcover. And I found out about them on this thread. They're here.

I made them top of my birthday list recently. They are well worth having, and Sharp's introduction is very informative. In fact, all the introductory material is worth reading and pondering. Sharp's views of the negative aspects of an education system that is only concerned with suitability for subsequent employment certainly chimed with my own!

Thank you for reminding me about this book. It's in my local library but I'd forgotten the title.
