Subject: Animusic From: JennieG Date: 05 Oct 12 - 07:44 AM Just came across this amazing animation: "Animusic" It looks like the bastard child of a mating of various stringed instruments. Cheers JennieG |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: GUEST,999 Date: 05 Oct 12 - 08:28 AM I'm gonna step outside and suitably prepare myself to give this a good watch/listen. Jennie, how did you find that? |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: kendall Date: 05 Oct 12 - 08:30 AM It's been in my computer for a few years. It is haunting, mesmerizing. |

Subject: RE: Animusic From: JennieG Date: 05 Oct 12 - 08:47 AM Believe it or not, it was posted on a quilting site! We're an interesting lot, we quilters. Cheers JennieG |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 05 Oct 12 - 09:27 AM Why is the word "embed" in the URL for that? The usual YouTube video doesn't have that. |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: Joe Offer Date: 05 Oct 12 - 10:08 AM I bought the first two Animusic DVDs. They were clever, but the graphics were disappointingly fuzzy. The third Animusic production is on BluRay, so I suppose it will be better - this High Definition YouTube video certainly is nice. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Animusic From: ClaireBear Date: 05 Oct 12 - 12:44 PM Ooh, there's a new one coming? Goody! My son and I have loved the first two DVDs for years. And "Resonant Chamber" is one of my favorite pieces. Claire |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: JennieG Date: 05 Oct 12 - 06:25 PM Wow, I must have been living under a rock because I've never heard of it before! It is a little creepy - those 'fingers' plucking the strings - but very clever. Cheers JennieG |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: kendall Date: 05 Oct 12 - 07:19 PM Clair, it's also one of mine. I can almost see Vincent Price creeping through a dimly lit dungeon. |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: GUEST,DrWord Date: 05 Oct 12 - 07:47 PM WOW thanks, JennieG! |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: Leadfingers Date: 05 Oct 12 - 07:54 PM Is that a REAL construction ? Or Computer Graphics ? Its clever either way !! |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: Elmore Date: 05 Oct 12 - 08:42 PM Can it book its own gigs? |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: Don Firth Date: 05 Oct 12 - 09:49 PM Amazing! I first discovered it a few years ago on the Classic Arts Showcase channel, a television channel that is the classical equivalent of channels that show rock videos. Clips from concerts and recitals by well-known or not-so-well-known, but very good singers and musicians, scenes from opera and ballet, bits from classic movies……. All kinds of neat clips. Including odd bits like "Animusic." Animusic is all computer graphics—I think…… Go to YouTube and put "animusic" in the search box. All kindsa wild and hairy stuff! Don Firth |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: katlaughing Date: 05 Oct 12 - 10:30 PM Yep, it's all CGA and we have loved it for years, too. The plucking fingers remind me of spiders. It's out of MIT if i remember rightly. Thanks for the reminder. |
Subject: RE: Animusic From: open mike Date: 05 Oct 12 - 11:24 PM the local PBS channel uses animusic clips between shows. http://www.animusic.com/ |
