Good to see this great venue getting a mention on Mudcat. It's quite a journey for me from Suffolk, but I've played there several times now and have always been made to feel welcome. Presenters, Jane and Dave have both put a lot of effort into launching the club and deserve more support from local players and singers. Where else can you just turn up, play any kind of acoustic music to a friendly audience AND be heard over internet radio anywhere in the world? Admission is free, It's friendly, fun and next to a good real ale pub. It just needs regular visitors now.

Probably - but no need. There's an upright acoustic piano in the club room, ready to roll. You wouldn't be the first ragtime player at the club. Go for it!

Yes - absolutely. Dave and Jane, the presenters have put a lot of work into this venture and have welcomed all acoustic singers and players including singer/songwriters, blues, accapella, traditional British folk and the odd American performer.
I would urge all players and singers to go along and give it a try with a floor spot or two and bring your friends. Like all folk clubs, variety is the key to a good night and an enthusiastic audience makes a huge difference to the atmosphere. If you have enough material then email the presenters and ask for a featured guest slot. Guest are not paid but the chance to be heard over the internet and be recorded is an opportunity not to be missed.

This is a new version of the former Wayland Radio folk show. It's been popular with Suffolk performers so far too. Recent visitors have included Silbury Hill, John Goodluck and his Bards, The Tilly Dalgleish Band, Lou Allen and Mc2 from around these parts. Go and play there - you never know who may be listening in to you as it all gets streamed live over internet radio. They'll play a few tracks from your cd's as well if you ask nicely.

Hi Mudcatters in Norfolk may not be aware of a new Folk club held every week at the Tracks club next to the Railway Public house in North Elmham every Sunday evening from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. Entry is free and anyone is welcome to come and sing/play or just listen. The format includes a booked guest spot of 50minutes with the rest of the evening taken up with floor spots from around the room. The whole evening's entertainment is also broadcast continuously, live and unedited over internet radio giving a potentially unlimited audience for your efforts.

See http://www.folkspot.co.uk/home.html for more details
