Actually, it was ALL the Almanac Singers who were at that audition. BOUND FOR GLORY was more of an autobiographical novel.

Yup. They were going to dress him up in a costume, and tell him how to walk onto the stage. He excused himself to go the men's room, and took the elevator instead.
