Definitely for the BS section. Take that following as it is meant to be.

Kellogs recalled Mini-Wheats due to "metal fragments". The recall cost them $30M. It affected various box sizes with certain best before dates.

Regular price of an 850g box is $7.69. On sale, $4.99. They had a mail-in coupon for a $5 gas card. (I got 3 of them at the $4.99 price, 3 $5 gas cards AND 2 "recalls" back at $7.69. Nice work if you can get it. I woulda had three recalls but I ate a box... the ARE tastey.)

So. When internal audit found out just how much money they were gonna loose on the gas cards they said "recall" and bite the bullet for $15M (assuming a 50% corporate gax rate as I don't know what it is in the US) and I expect heads rolled.

I usually make my own cereal. Oatmeal (porridge to me), cream of wheat, Red River, whatever but when I saw the gas card deal, I bought three boxes (the max coupons allowed in one envelope) and was gonna buy three more but they got pulled of the shelves.

So, eat at least half of your $5 coupon boxes before you take them back for a refund. Ya can't lose. Even if ya do eat some metal, ya can sue for a lot more. >;-)

Which Rice Krispie are you? Snapped, Krinkled or Popped?

From Wiki... "Snap is always portrayed with a baker's hat and Pop with the military cap of a marching band leader. Crackle's red or striped stocking cap leaves his occupation ambiguous. Corporate promotional material describes their personalities as resembling brothers. Snap is the oldest and a problem solver, Crackle is an unsure "middle child" and Pop is a mischievous youngster."

Hahahahahaaa. That Krinkles me up! Heheheheeeee. Ambiguous. Hahahahahaa. I need a tissue. I can't stop laughing... thanks Crackle... Krinkle... whatever...

An elf! In a bowl of cereal! HAHAHAHHAAA!

Oooooh dear. Ahem. Decorum. Sorry. That was uncalled for. My apologies to all Mudcatters... except for the little elf in the milk. I just can't stop laughing! Heheheheehahahahaa. Unsure middle child... oh dear!

I heard it as Prostituties: They don't snap, crackle or pop; they lay in the bottom of the bowl and bang.

I dunno about any conspiracy regarding coupons and such. The ways of marketers are a mystery to this dumb ol' country boy.

But what I do know is that old-fashioned "big bicuit" shredded wheat is more expensive than its "spoon-sized" brother. Why? Did they decide that since the hay-bale sized stuff is only popular among a handful of diehard old farts, they could charge more for it and still sell the same amount?

Private Jones was assigned to the Army induction center, where he was to advise new recruits about their government benefits, especially their Serviceman's Group Life Insurance (SGLI). It wasn't long before the center's Lieutenant noticed that Private Jones had almost a 100% record for insurance sales, which had never happened before. Rather than ask about this, the Lt. stood in the back of the room and listened to Jones's sales pitch.

Jones explained the basics of the SGLI to the new recruits, and then said, "If you have SGLI and go into battle and are killed, the government has to pay $200,000 to your beneficiaries. If you don't have SGLI, and you go into battle and get killed, the government has to pay only a maximum of $6,000." "Now," he concluded, "which bunch do you think they are going to send into battle first?"

Are this that cannibalistic cereal? Those are some bizarre commercials, similar in weirdness to the... who was that author that dreamed up the big puckered asshole-cockroach? It was Kafka-esque and so is any cereal that eats itself.

"But what I do know is that old-fashioned "big bicuit" shredded wheat is more expensive than its "spoon-sized" brother." BeeDub

And have you noticed that the shredded biscuits nowadays are half-cooked? Used to be that the texture was firm and crunchy. Now it is smooth and soaks right up.

I grew up dipping the big loaf into hot salted water which was then immediately put in one's bowl, sugar was added and then the cold milk surrounded the hot biscuit. Quite lovely, really.

And the big ones came with cards of "Straight Arrow" "injunuity" stuff on Indian lore and Indian/craft/camping stuff layered between. We had some discussion on those awhile back.

It's pronounced "min-ee Hweets." Don't ask me why you pronounce the "h" before the "w."

Becca, YES! I got my cereals mixed up. It's not just the fact they eat each other, but that tongue looks like Gene Simmons had unnatural relations with a giraffe. Ewww.

Saulgoldie, it's Stewie's fault.

Saul, I tripped over that in school years back. I say hwat, hwere, hwen, etc. Many of my class mates didn't. The following is a link to an article that explains hwy/why.
