Subject: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 27 Oct 12 - 02:30 PM On Tuesday 13th November, we have a double bill. RC4 and Joe and Friends. RC4 are good friends to the club and always come up with a professional set, with outstanding harmonies. Joe and Friends were better known as 'Owl Service'. Apart from some outstanding vocals, they are being joined by Phil Martin, who is master of the hurdie gurdie. He has been seriously ill, but is gracing us with his return. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 27 Oct 12 - 04:10 PM Rehearsal tolerable tonight. It looks as if 3 Ravens will not debut yet. I may debut a new guitar though. More rehearsing and drinking will now ensue. Local time 21.11. |

Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: GUEST,Dean Date: 28 Oct 12 - 12:04 PM Simon do you still need me to bring PA and microphones for this event? (Not a problem, just checking). |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 28 Oct 12 - 02:47 PM Yes please |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 28 Oct 12 - 03:09 PM RC4 will by their own preference be unamplified. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 28 Oct 12 - 04:40 PM OK |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: GUEST,CS Date: 28 Oct 12 - 05:45 PM As an aside - at least for those what are so inclined anyway - the 13th of November 2012 also coincides with the new (ie: black) Moon in Scorpio, also known as Lunar Samhain - AND a complete Solar eclipse - albeit likely entirely invisible from our Earthly perspective. So, if any Satanically inclined folkies are able to procure Virgins (of any kind) now would be a particularly auspicious night to sacrifice them. I'd encourage anyone inclined to hold a blood sacrifice tonight however, not to muck up the rug. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 28 Oct 12 - 06:19 PM Virgins? In Troytown? |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Girl Friday Date: 29 Oct 12 - 10:58 AM What's up with this cat lately? It's not posting. To reiterate. This sounds like a great evening, and we do try to support our friends RC4 whenever possible. I shall speak with Mr Leopard about this gig. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 09 Nov 12 - 03:19 PM Don't forget folks, it's next Tuesday |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Nov 12 - 03:28 PM We have not forgotten. We may have forgotten the songs, the arrangements, or necessary capos - but we will be there wailing away. Joining in will (generally) be welcomed, mainly with voices. Not many guitar songs this session and those that are are mostly sensitive (insofar as as RC4 does that thing). If necessary (that's NECESSARY) new capos arrive in time be prepared to meet a new old Hagstrom - the youngest yet at 1972. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 09 Nov 12 - 03:54 PM Why have you put nesersery in caps? |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 09 Nov 12 - 07:46 PM To emphasise that there is no such thing as an unnecessary new capo or guitar. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: melodeonboy Date: 10 Nov 12 - 07:54 AM "We may have forgotten the songs, the arrangements, or necessary capos" The others perhaps, Richard, but you forget your family of capos? Nah! |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Girl Friday Date: 10 Nov 12 - 08:34 AM Hmmmm!!! slipped my mind, so thanks for posting here. Now I have divided loyalties... RC4, or Jez Lowe.... Dartford less fuel, but more cost... Rochester... more fuel, less cost. Music all good, Beer, all good ... Driver decides. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 11 Nov 12 - 10:28 AM refresh |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Girl Friday Date: 13 Nov 12 - 09:52 AM Decided on Dartford.... we get to see RC4 more often than Jez. Hope Border Crossing still ok for Friday... please give Children In Need a mention... and I'll do so at Dartford. Any news on Karen ywet ? |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 13 Nov 12 - 11:43 AM For no very obvious reason, I am far more nervous about our (Roger the Chorister Four) double-header gig tonight at the Good Intent Rochester than I was about supporting the legendary Martin Simpson at a 300-seater all-seated pro-PA venue. The new Hagstrom (1972) is all Rodgered and ready to go with silver-brass bridge pins that arrived today, and the new capos to fit her flat-backed neck are also ready to go, and the tuning tweaks for the one in mock DADGAD (Testament of Patience Kershaw) practised, and the tricky riff in it also practised, and I'm sweating. I think I'll stop lawyering and try to chillax. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Richard Bridge Date: 14 Nov 12 - 03:46 AM Thank you Simon for organising (as usual) an excellent evening. Thanks also to the pub for smashing grub and we all wish Karen the best and a speedy recovery. Every member of RC4/5 had at least one little blooper (I counted two significant words glitches, one pitch glitch, one over-run, and four missed or late chord changes - three of them mine) but at least Sam was impressive enough that Phil Martin borrowed him. Ain't it piquant when the drummer is the most sought after musician in the band? The young Hagstrom however behaved, and spoke well. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: melodeonboy Date: 14 Nov 12 - 04:33 AM A really good evening from start to finish! |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Girl Friday Date: 14 Nov 12 - 01:11 PM Glad it went well. |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: growler Date: 14 Nov 12 - 05:25 PM Thanks to all. I think one of our best evenings. special thanks to RC4 for their generosity Simon |
Subject: RE: Good Intent Concert Night 13th November From: Dead Horse Date: 16 Nov 12 - 05:57 AM I never knew nsbHWrUXKUxA could be such an interesting subject. If ever I need a racmepelent (presumably for powering racmes) I now know where to go. Thanks Nayim. |
