Many thanks, Joe. You are probably right ~~ tho, as I said, this a fairly new phenomenon, maybe the past 3-4 weeks, previous to which it always opened from the top. I have had Mudcat bookmarked since I joined it in Aug 2009. So I don't think it can be to do with my original bookmarking. Possibly it got altered in some way recently when I posted something to BS. But, again, why?

Not that it is important, & perfectly simple to override ~~ on my keyboard, not CTRL-Home as you suggested, but CMD-▲. Or just a click on the 'top of page' at top of BS section ~~ but it's just that, like Mr Clennam in Little Dorrit, "I want to know, you know!"

Hmmmm. If you post a BS message, Mudcat assumes you want to go back to the BS section, so it sends you to this URL; http://www.mudcat.org/#BS. I'll betcha that's what you saved as a bookmark.
You can edit your bookmark and remove #BS, or you can delete the bookmark, go to www.mudcat.org by typing the URL into the address box, and then save THAT as your bookmark. If you're lazy and don't want to bother with all that, you can get back to the top easily by hitting [CTRL-Home] on your keyboard.

I used to open Mudcat, and the top of the forum would appear on the screen. If I wanted to go to BS, I had to click accordingly or scroll down.

But for the last few weeks, clicking on Mudcat in my Bookmarks has only momentarily brought up the page top, and has then almost instantaneously brought up the BS section, and I have had to click for 'top of page' if I wanted the music threads index, the number of my PMs, this 'create message' facility, & all the other stuff which heads a Mudcat page.

This is little, if any, nuisance; but I cannot help wondering why this is happening; whether this is a general experience, or one peculiar to my desktop; and, if the latter, why?
