Subject: BS: Blue-Ray Players From: Wesley S Date: 01 Nov 12 - 02:33 PM Do many of you own blue-ray video players? Are they worth it - or is it just a big hype? Moved above the line as a tech thread - you'll get more answers from your techies who don't read the BS portion of the site. --mudelf |
Subject: RE: BS: Blue-Ray Players From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Nov 12 - 02:39 PM Blu-ray players give you a lot of connectivity - I stream NetFlix through mine (it has other features, but that is the only one I use). They up-size DVD movies so if you watch them on an HDTV, they fill the screen, not display with large black borders. They've come down a lot in price, the same as a good DVD player a few years ago. I'd say go ahead and get one. I shopped around, looked for one that was wireless if I wanted, but I in fact wired the data ports around the house so it is plugged in and streams well. SRS |
