Subject: RE: Tam Lin by Halloween? From: Will Fly Date: 08 Nov 12 - 05:20 AM Couldn't make it, Phil - alas - I started off with good intentions and got sidetracked by other projects both musical and, more importantly, domestic. Blame it on the grandchildren, the younger of whom, at the moment, is playing with a Fisher-Price garage on our lounge carpet - or on his great-grandmother who, at the moment, is bedridden and being ministered to - or just blame it on my empty head... Another time perhaps. |
Subject: Tam Lin by Halloween? From: Phil Edwards Date: 08 Nov 12 - 02:55 AM So we were talking, and he goes, right, Given the current trend, started it seems by one J. Boden, of recording a folk song at regular intervals, I'm thinking of doing the same. Problem is, I'm not a singer of folk songs as such - so I think one a year is probably about it for me. Any suggestions for 2012? And I'm all if it's going to be one song, make it a good one. ... Tell you what, we'll give you till Halloween to work up Tam Lin. How about it? And then he's like totally I'll accept Pip's challenge and sing one song ... (a) unaccompanied (b) by Hallowe'een (c) with video... And I'm like, good call, only I didn't actually say that with words and everything? So what it is, right... aargh, I can't keep this up... Calling Will Fly! Where's this song? |
