What I remember most about the sessions at Ivinghoe was the enthusiasm of the teenage audiences, both youth hostellers and locals from Ivinghoe and how we could do little wrong in their eyes - whether they were staying in a bed, camping or had just walked up the road from their homes.
I will be putting documents from the '70 and '71 festival on my website in the next hour or two.

Correction, George.
I haven't had heart attacks - I've been incapacitated by several strokes the latest of which has left my left arm and hand useless.
I am currently (at this moment) transferring sessions from the 1971 festival from tape to MP3 files. These contain sessions from Peter Bellamy and Jeremy Taylor. I'll be putting them on my website www.staubig.com/music/ivinghoe when finished. There may be certificate errors - just mark them as safe. No malware will be downloaded.

I've just dug out my old YHA card. The first Folk Festival at Ivinghoe was 2 September 1967.

One one occasion I was booked to play: when I arrived there was a notice saying that due to lack of support it would take place in the lounge rather than in the village hall - still great fun. And then there was the evening when I arrived, helped to put the chairs out, was then asked if because the support act would be arriving later than planned could I start the evening. First time that I've supported myself - well in a musical sense anyway! I ended up helping to put the chairs away only to be told that due to overbooking I'd have to sleep in the lounge.

If anyone remembers Dusty Pulver he's had a a couple of heart attacks over the past few years and can't play anymore. If you do remember him and you'd like to contact him PM me and I'll pass it on to him.

The monthly folk singing weekends were in the '60s (IIRC '66, '67) as were the folk festivals.

I moved into the village in 1979, the wardens were John [may be wrong there] and Jean Chaplain. I remember barn dances in the Town Hall: on one occasion the proportion of ladies was overwhelming and nearly every dance was for triples. Didn't get to any singing events though.

Nor did I ever see the Ivinghoe Plough Stots, but somehow I ended up with their longswords when the Chaplains retired.

I attended regularly as a singer (Chuck Rogers) learning the trade. And got involved with the folk festivals held there. Great times!

Gosh, no, sadly, but I took a number of school groups, both primary and secondary (I was secondary, my wife was primary!) there in the mid-70s for hostelling weekends. I can't remember the warden's name but he was a good old boy! We took one group right in the middle of the parched summer of 1976. Thanks anyway for rekindling fond memories!

I was wondering if anyone used to go to the Ivinghoe Youth Hostel folk music events in the late 70's or early 80's. It would be nice to hear from you. Amongst those who attended were someone who I seem to recall was called or nicknamed Flossie as well as Dusty Pulver & George Norris
