On saturday, november 17, 2012, 8pm aboard the historic ship Balclutha, the 24th annual sea music concert series concludes with a special evening showcasing an emerging new generation of traditional music performers.

The "Emerging Performers" concert will feature solo singers Miriam Rubenson and Jeremy Friedenthal, the 4-member sea music band Month's Advance, and the 3-member irish music group The Jammy Dodgers (Autumn Rhodes, concertina, flute & vocals, darcy Noonan, fiddle & vocals, Dave Cory, banjo & guitar).

Tickets: $14. Available by emailing [e-mail], or by calling 415-561-6662. Tickets will also be available at the door, night of concert, beginning 7pm (entrance to Hyde Street Pier). Refreshments will be available free of charge (but donation appreciated).

The concert is presented by San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park / National Park Service, and the nonprofit San Francisco Maritime National Park Association.

refresh. It'll be a great concert! Anyone within range, come over and see these wonderful, young singers and instrumentalists keeping traditional music alive and well.

That's tomorrow! You really should give more advance notice, like a month or so, and reminders a week out.

I'd love to hear the emerging performers, but I've got things planned for tomorrow.

The concert was a smash. 70 concertgoers were treated to some very fine performers from this new generation, and the performers were all excited to be there. Some gigs have a feeling of electricity in the air. I'd say traditional music is in good hands!
