Sorry for the insistence, may be some new MudCatters could give me a hint to find the lyrics for the beautiful Love Song, from the movie "Sanders of the River" by Paul Robeson circa 1930. I do have a record, but there are too many words that I can't hear clearly. I can readily get a piano accompanyment, but without the complete lyrics, I can't sing. (I've got many opinions that I can't sing anyway, but.. w.a.h.) Another solution: I send you the CD, you authentic english-speaking people listen to it and write down those phrases I can't understand (the quality is really bad).

Thanks for any help
Yours, Andrés Magré

Thank you, Susan. This is a fragmented lyrics, as far as I can understand:
Where you go, my heart will follow after,
there's no road you can't steer me by.
Joy or woe, your sad... and your laughter
I will share with you until I die.

There's a new
magic in the air,
magic everywhere,
magic in the breeze around the trees,
It is blue,
ever since you came
nothing is the same
as you .... your name .... me
oh, blame!
Ever since I felt
on the .... I heard
leave and go !

Where you go... etc.
Not only is one of the sweetest songs I heard, but it seems to be (if a get the underlying idea) very mature, because it seems to be sung by somebody who commited some offense against his beloved, and cries for pardon and promises his ethernal love. (If this is not the idea, ok, it COULD be, anyway it's beautiful). Of course there are many people here in Buenos Aires who could give me an opinion (or a class of English) but incredibly enough, I can't find any American singer. And the nearest American singers I know, are here at the Mudcat :))
Best regards,
Andrés Magré (who pretended to emulate Paul Robeson, and was a simple tenor)

http://sniff.numachi.com/~rickheit/dtrad/pages/tiLOVESONG.html lists a set of lyrics for this song:

Love Song
(Arthur Wimperis, Mischa Spoliansky, 1935)

cho: Where you go, my heart will follow after
There's no road you can escape me by.
Joy or woe, your sorrow and your laughter
I will share with you until I die.

There's a new magic in the air,
Magic everywhere,
Magic in the breeze among the trees
It is you,
Ever since you came, nothing is the same
Just to speak your name, says me
Your flame (?)
Ever since I fell underneath your spell
Limongo (? -sounds like a proper name)
CHORUS
(from the film, Sanders of the River)

I remember this as ..............

Where you go, my heart will follow after
There's no road you can escape me by.
Joy or woe, your sorrow and your laughter
I will share with you until I die.

There's a new magic in the air,
Magic everywhere,
Magic in the breeze among the trees
It is you,
Ever since you came, nothing is the same
Just to speak your name sets me all aflame
Ever since I fell
Underneath your spell
LILLONGO

Where you go, my heart will follow after
There's no road you can escape me by.
Joy or woe, your sorrow and your laughter
I will share with you until I die.
