Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: cptsnapper Date: 22 Nov 12 - 09:44 AM Ooops. The Title should be Tony Hall New BBC Director General. But I assume that you'll get the gist of it. |

Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: GUEST,FloraG Date: 22 Nov 12 - 12:55 PM Tony did say he learnt some of his best tunes from the test card. FloraG |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: GUEST,Guest Date: 22 Nov 12 - 02:19 PM Apparently he is going to sort out the CURRENT crisis - when he starts in 5 months time!? At least by then he will not have to deal with Mike Harding's (who?) fan club so that will be a great relief to him. |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: GUEST,davemc Date: 22 Nov 12 - 04:41 PM Tedious corporate former BBC insider returns - headhunted with no open application process. Just fat wads of cash for the headhunters. Already spotted rambling on about the "fantastic" "wonderful" BBC and its "marvellous" journalists ... which, if I remember correctly, is rather why the other chap was pushed to resign. Never mind, it's just colossal amounts of licence tax down the drain. Time to split up and shrink the behemoth. |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 22 Nov 12 - 05:03 PM Several hundred TV channels - and virtually the only ones that ever show anything worth watching are the BBC ones (apart from repeats of BBC shows on non-BBC channels). |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: GUEST,Guest Date: 22 Nov 12 - 08:34 PM Master McGrath does have a valid point. Incidentally it the site keeps doing that to me - see previous posting. |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: GUEST,Ron Date: 22 Nov 12 - 08:40 PM Oh yes! If only it was THAT Tony Hall. I wish!!! Good cartoonist, good musician, mad as a hatter, and a really nice guy. |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: cptsnapper Date: 23 Nov 12 - 05:09 AM It would be good if he replaced Mike Harding with Simon Mayo who's a folk music fan. |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: Dave Hanson Date: 23 Nov 12 - 07:45 AM Didn't he used to be one of The Spinners ? Hughie Jones would be better. Dave H |
Subject: RE: Tony Hall BBC New BBC Director General From: GUEST,FloraG Date: 23 Nov 12 - 07:55 AM I think paying any civil servant £400 000+ is ludicrous. Thats half a lifetimes pay for ordinary people and they get it every year. FloraG |
