Just seen that the wonderful Joe (even older than Roger) Brown has released an album of ukulele numbers called The Ukulele Album including some unlikely covers.
Might be one for the Xmas wishlist.

I'll check it out - thanks for the heads-up. I saw Joe in Reading a year or two ago (with Dave Edmunds guesting) and he was superb - played guitar, banjo, uke, fiddle and all very well. A great evening.

Just listened to him talking on BBC's radio fours "Midweek." program. Well worth the listen.

As Aye,

I must seek this album out as I've always enjoyed Joe's music and I'm also a late convert to the ukelele.......Just purchased a "real" one.

Just downloaded this from a well known Jersey based company.
Maybe they don't pay tax but they've saved me a few bob which I can now spend on ale brewed here which will be taxed rather highly.

So, I'm still doing my bit.
:-)

I'm pleased that Radio Four is loud and clear in "The Dam", Phil.

Here's a link to the Midweek programme on BBC I Player. Joe's story of the time that he played with Johnny Cash and Johnny got him fired and then rehired is about 20 minutes in....
