Had this pop up on my youtube page the other day. It's a few years old (1997) but I thought it might be of interest to any banjo players out there who haven't already seen it.

Stephen Wad was just nominated for a Grammy for Best Liner Notes. If you liked Banjo Spirits check out Catching The Music
on Folkstreams.net.

Yes, thanks for posting. It's good to hear somebody actually playing a song on the banjo and not just picking patterns.

What I was most intrigued with was Don Stover's banjo which was in a Golden Eagle
case. Where can you get information on the Golden Eagle five string?

They seem to have a warm sound, somewhat like a Vega but a little different and I've noted that some traditional banjo players seem to use one.

I like the old Orpheums, too.

Anyone know about this banjo?

Stephen Wade did a good job. He is a protege of Fleming Brown, from Chicago,
a wonderful banjo player and performer now gone.

Fleming studied with Doc Hopkins who played at the National Barn Dance on WLS in Chicago. Trivia: WLS owned by Sears was the acronym for "World's Largest Store".
