I do not understand "the in and out "   but what you shared is quite miraculous   ... it provides   a resource   that was only a dream of bubbles one decade ago.

well Ron Davies, we do not really do Sacred Harp. Although some have us have done a couple of workshops in SH, however I am going to a Sacred Harp Carol Sing this afternoon. Some of us do enjoy Gaudete, this soloist is our friend Ali, who sings in Trangl with my wife and I.
Arkie, the I Heard the bells setting is from a book compiled by Shelley Posen of the group Finest Kind, is is called the Canadian Pub Caroller.
It is basically a round which goes First time All, then Bass, Tenor, Alto, Soprano, then when everyone repeats the last line until we get together, the last time through is done with each part repeating the same single line of melody (it varies on each of the 4 lines) with all of the words.
Sans Day I have been doing for the last 20 years or so, not sure now where it originated from, I think a Book of Carols we bought from the MET.
Glad you liked it, JohnB

Listened to several selections and will be back for more. Thanks for posting the link. The tune setting for "I Heard the Bells" was different from the one I am used to and there was a different line in the "Sans Day Carol" from the version I know. I like hearing familiar music in different settings and I may change the line in the Sans Day Carol to the way you sing it. Glad you uploaded the music. Surely it will be enjoyed by many folk over the Christmas season.

Good stuff.    Sounds like you have no problem keeping warm regardless of weather-- at those tempos. i've never heard "Holly and Ivy" faster.

Particularly liked "Gaudete"--very appropriately boisterously joyous.

I bet you guys do Sacred Harp well also.

I also bet you guys practice--weekly?

I am not really a guest, it's one of those Christmas things, someone eat my cookie.
JohnB.

I have uploaded a live from the floor recording of our group The Orange Peel Carollers doing our Pub Carolling material (in a local Church)
I know it is sacrilege but we did have better acoustics than in a pub.
We do mostly Sheffield Carols with a few other areas, like Cornwall thrown in for good measure.
We will be doing it live at the Golden Kiwi in Cambridge (Galt) on Sunday 16th Dec from 3 to 6.00 pm.When it will obviously sound a lot better with our voices properly lubricated.
A Good Christmas and Happy New Year (or whatever you celebrate) to you all, JohnB.
