Mike Harding, "Radio 2's top folk/roots/acoustic specialist, who has presented the programme since 1999", will have his final BBC show on Boxing Day, 26 December.

The first BBC Radio 2 Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe will be on 2 January. Good title, what?

Does anyone know if Harding's new venture is going to be podcastable via iTunes, or is it going to be one of those useless 'listen via the website' jobs (which IMNSHO was a bit factor in the reason that the revived Folkwaves failed to catch on)?

And I'm looking forward to Mark Radcliffe's programme too.

Wouldn't it be good if all the shouting and hand-waving around the decision not to renew MH's freelance contract meant that we actually ended up with MORE quality folk music coberage on a weekly basis?
