It looks like almost every other "Forum" on the internet - too many clicks to get to something with no content.
I don't understand why these people accuse the Mudcat interface as being untidy or clunky. I go to one page and I can see everything I need to decide whether I am interested in opening a thread for a look.
As far as I am concerned, there isn't a more elegant layout out there. Everywhere else is cluttered up with Avatar pictures and automatic "this line of text goes at the bottom of every post I make" stuff.

A new folk forum set up via Daily.co.uk with absolutely no user data according to Alexa.com. (If the first GoDaddy link doesn't go through the go here and enter the captcha code. All of the registered owner information is there. This is a site out of Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, UK.

Our members have made a total of 74 posts in 25 threads.
We currently have 26 members registered.

It is ironic that after not joining Mudcat and calling us disorganized that this guest would use Mudcat in order to announce his new site. That's one way to get traffic so I guess we're good for something! Max is a generous fellow, he won't kick out your thread. I will suggest that with so few users and no online statistics it is early days for bragging about controlling spam. Are you relying on the host to help? And what is your troll policy?

I've only been on Mudcat for a few years but it seems fairly often someone will post about their "new" forum, which then procedes to slip into decline and disappear for good whilst Mudcat carrys on. I'm sure this one will be different though - certainly it looks like all the others, but that doesn't mean anything. The fact it's had two whole days work put into it should ensure its survival. Aha, It's understandable, someone unregistered posting a promotion to a site that could be anything. Yep, could be suspicious!

I'm a guest because I never registered here, ok, moving away from the obvious, I never registered because there isn't really a need to.

Greg - most of us here are "old farts"® and unlikely to switch allegiance after having formed relationships over a considerable period of time. The owner of the site is currently in the process of updating it so maybe you should give it a bit more time. In any case I wish you the best with your site.

Hello there!

After becoming interested in folk a few years back I found mudcat, and more recently became fed up with the untidiness and clunkiness of it as a website. I have spent a few days setting up a new forum dedicated to folk and wondered if any of you wanted to give it a test and see how it compares to mudcat, I would hope you might be pleasantly surprised.

Another important thing to mention, I have taken many precautions against spam here and to date, we have successively blocked all spam attempts!
