Subject: xmas MIDI"s and so forth From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 24 Dec 12 - 11:51 AM My mother-in-law died last week. She was ready to go. She passed in a deep sleep, heavily sedated because otherwise the pain of her failing organs would have been dreadful. We had the funeral, then flew home among crowds and piles of lost luggage. I am now ready for Christmas. This morning the cat woke me up early, the house and streets are silent, there's snow on the ground, and I turned down the sound on the computer and went looking for some good tunes. To heck with pagan origins, to heck with the O antiphons, to heck with Gregorian chant. I am going to learn "Let It Snow" and "Silver Bells." And I'm not going to do "Silver Bells" in the traditional mournful 'country' style, either. In the car yesterday, I sang the song along with the DH, and I told him to try and make the bells sound silver, and he did. Here's a good site where I got good MIDI's for both songs. They didn't turn out to be HTML docs, and they didn't have goofy note times. They are nice, playable MIDI's. Thank you, Vonna. http://www.vonna.com/christmas/music/music-midi.html Now to put the chords on these babies... Merry Christmas, everyone. |
