Its Easy ! Just list 3 Albums released this year in order of preference. And I'll try to put together a top 10 on January 1st. Please add details of label (where it could be tracked down and bought). Try and name less well known acts/albums on the circuit, avoid say Bellowhead, Kate Rusby, Unthanks - you get the picture ......

Here is mine :-

1, RIBBON ROAD - 'Roadside Dreams'
2, REBEKAH FINDLAY - 'Improvising Around The Sun'
3, TAN YOWS - 'Undipped'

Off you go !

1. Stephanie Hladowski & C. Joynes - 'The Wild Wild Berry'

Can't think of any other folk albums that have really spoke to me this year.

Sorry folks. Something went wrong with the button clicking submit message thingy.

The list above should read:-
1. Voice of the People_Good people Take Warning-Ballads Sung by British & Irish Traditional Singers. Topic TSCD 673T
2. Voice of the People_You Never Heard So Sweet-Songs by Southern English Traditional Singers. Topic TSCD 671
3. Voice of the People_I'm A Romany Rai_Songs by Southern English Gypsy Traditional Singers. Topic TSCD 672D

And for good measure; Sarah Makem. Voice of the People_The Heart is True. Topic TSCD 674

What? Nothing else worth listening to in the whole 12 months, but Topic Voice of the Peoples'? Well, there were two rare LPs which hadn't seen the light of reissue in donkey's years until they were lumped on a single CD a few months ago. And by 'eck, they were worth waiting for:-

Hedy West Accompanying Herslf on the 5-String Banjo Plus Volume 2. Vanguard VCD 71924

I had hoped that the The Olllam CD would make a late play for a spot in my best-of-year, but unfortunately it wasn't to be ...

Ian, what about Elmore's vote for Gordon Bok's "Because You Asked"?

It's my favorite too, by the way.
