Can anyone help me work out the chords for this song? Thanks a lot in advance (I haven't transcribed any chords for a long time, and that part of my brain's gotten a bit rusty).

A Sailor's Life - Solas

This is what I dredged from memory. A different tempo, different lyrics and different feel.

The layout is to ensure that the chords appear above the correct words. Cheers.

Thanks awfully, Stanron. Don't know why I couldn't get all that on my own (had some of it, but was getting stuck in a couple of places). Leaving out the last G, it works swell.

Your welcome. As to the G, that should be halfway through the word 'now' instead of on 'William'. I liked the D to C to G change with one slow beat on each chord, but you should play it how you like it. Cheers.

There's a funny run up sort of hammer on from that G to the C in your key. I do it in A. THere's also a little riff that fiddles with the major 7th and a sus4 at the end of some lines.   Not sure if they are in that version to which I have not listened.

@Richard: Could you give me the chords you use? Or give this version a listen if you have a minute? The song works very well with the chords that Stanron gave, but I do think there is a bit of that fun stuff going on in the recording... just can't figure out exactly what (and here I'm showing my ignorance).

If You change the font to 'Courier New' and put the chords above the relevant words they will stay in the correct position whatever the font size
