Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: frogprince Date: 22 Jan 13 - 05:39 PM 2nd question: could this also be the dumbest alligator . Question C: could at least one of the humans, who walked that close to the 'gator, be trying for the title of dumbest human . |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: GUEST,999 Date: 22 Jan 13 - 05:46 PM The word stupid comes to mind. In order: stupid humans, stupid cat and stupid alligator. He got only half the sausages, missed the cat and also the idiot who walked in front of the camera. Darwin was right. We have met the enemy and he is us. Thank you, Mr Kelly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: gnu Date: 22 Jan 13 - 05:51 PM Dumb cat. Dumb people. Smart alligator. Think about that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Bobert Date: 22 Jan 13 - 05:59 PM If Allie had eaten the cat then this video could have landed a couple wacko humans in jail... Dumb people... B~ |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Little Hawk Date: 22 Jan 13 - 06:12 PM What is truly impressive is the cat's will, his hubris, his nerve, his stubborn belief in his own authority. It's also a testament to what a powerful motivator greed is. |

Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 22 Jan 13 - 06:23 PM The house cat descended from European and Asian forebears who have no instinctive fear of alligators, since such reptiles are nowhere in their history. The same cat would probably be terrified of a wolf or a great horned owl. I don't think it's a matter of intelligence, it's a matter of genetics. The people involved seem incredibly stupid. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: gnu Date: 22 Jan 13 - 06:33 PM I diasagree, execpt for leeneia's post... to an extent. Cat + humans beat alligator. Cat knew that maybe? but still took a "dumb" chance even if that was the case - see leeneia's post - and the gator was smart not messing with the "herd" on shore as it was smaller than all but the cat and obviously outnumbered. In the end... the humans are not only stupid but negligent. Then again, in order to get the cat out of there, they would have had to have some balls as well as a brain between the bunch of them. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Elmore Date: 22 Jan 13 - 06:42 PM Nice kitty. Typical alligator. Stupid people. |

Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: gnu Date: 22 Jan 13 - 08:44 PM Dunno why I am reminded of Smokey. He was apeshit. I was at a friends house. She was cooking and I was reading the newspaper. I had that feeling. I lowered the paper slightly. Smokey, who I knew wasn't quite sane, was getting ready and I knew what was gonna happen. I raised the paper. Right hand off the paper. I heard the claws in the carpet, I whipped the paper to my left with my left hand, and caught Smokey in mid flight GENTLY with my right hand and lifted him over me so he could enjoy the rest of his flight. He yowled when he hit the wall. More from being embarrassed than smacking the wall at speed. "She" ran in and freaked out. I explained what had taken place and said I would be more than happy to take care of Smokey (it had attacked her and some of her neighbours over the previous month... clawing for NO reason). She was aghast. "Smokey is a gooood kitty, yes he is." whilst petting him. I said, "I gotta do something in my truck." and exited. I did. I drove away. Strange pussy like that is not to be tolerated. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: frogprince Date: 22 Jan 13 - 09:52 PM gnu...that last sentence...are you talking about the cat? |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Little Hawk Date: 22 Jan 13 - 10:07 PM AMAZING video, Bruce! Wow! |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: GUEST,999 Date: 22 Jan 13 - 10:49 PM NNever would have looked for it if not for yours, LH. Tell you my friend, I don't care what folks say, I don't think those cats are too bright. But I bet they've learned to be real fast. I figure the alligator won't eat the cat until the folks stop putting out sausages--then the kitty go be disappear. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: gnu Date: 23 Jan 13 - 06:09 AM 9... "But I bet they've learned to be real fast." I would think that ability is a prerequisite for this particular endeavour. |

Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: GUEST,CS Date: 23 Jan 13 - 06:46 AM It pisses me off no end when shitty people like these, set up shitty videos like this. Cat versus alligator, oh haha! That'll make a brilliant YouTube. Put a toddler there in place of a cat and see how many people are amused by the toddler's "bravado" at slapping the alligator on it's snout. Tee hee! |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Becca72 Date: 23 Jan 13 - 08:31 AM Agree 100%, CS |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Little Hawk Date: 23 Jan 13 - 01:28 PM Look, morons have to do something with their idle time. If it was Shane, he'd be bumming cigarettes outside Tim Horton's and pestering the workers on their smoke break. And besides, the cat seemed quite willing to participate. The fact is, some cats are arrogant almost beyond belief. They'll take on practically anything. |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: gnu Date: 23 Jan 13 - 02:16 PM I don't think it was "set up". I think it just happened that way. However, that does not excuse the humans who allow the situation to continue for their or anyone else's amusement. I find it rather sickening. As for vids which are actual setups which include cruelty or danger, I find such sickening, disgusting, reprensible... okay, just one more... punishable. |

Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: gnu Date: 23 Jan 13 - 04:41 PM Yer one baaaaad cat. >;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Could this be the dumbest.... From: Dave the Gnome Date: 24 Jan 13 - 06:23 AM A toddler would be a different thing altogether. The cat does, believe it or not, have a fighting chance of getting out of harms way whereas most humans, let alone a little 'un, are just not that quick. I am not getting into the realms of who would win a fight. Just saying that cats are as quick if not quicker than alligators. And, if all else fails, they can run up trees :-) I am pretty sure no animal would be daft enough to place itself in danger where it could not see an escape route. Just my 2 pen'urth. DtG |
