I have just loaded a few videos on Youtube. The music behind them is all Folkie. Not by design, but the people I have access to and are up for it seem to be Folkies. the first group is in 3 halves! They built the bridge to the drawing and only then had to acceed to residents complaints that high sided vehicles (& trailers) would, with the average idiot driving, put wheels close and thus into a gutter and tilt over and smack the building. There is an overhang just to make it absolutely certain! Hence the third half of the documentary.
Stonehouse Ocean Bridge part 1
Stonehouse Ocean Bridge part 2
Stonehouse Ocean Bridge part 3 putting it right!
Ryeford Double lock part 1 - fitting the lock gates
Ryeford Double lock part 2 - first boat through for 60 years
Ryeford Double lock part 4 - the arc of the quadrant
part 4 soon
They are all fairly short so....
Happy 'Tubing

…… the first group is in 3 halves

???? ..... room for 1½ boats at a time then? If the engineering calculations used maths such as above, perhaps that's why things had to be put right later. ;-)

Seriously though, it's a fantastic project. It must have been a great feeling to see that first boat go through. Well done to all concerned.

I had to do a bit of audio addition to Ryeford 2 because It didn't have music. The existing version is there but the new version has been added
And Ryeford 3 now uploaded.

Ryeford 2 - (v2) stop boards removed and first boat for 60 years.
Ryeford 3 - log delivery - first commercial boat for 50 years.

I am having a bit of trouble with the "channel", not sure how to edit it so that it only has one instance of each video. Any Youtubers who know how to do these things?

There is a load more to come. I have been videoing/photographing for a year now.
After that I have 100 Gb of buskers in Stroud to process. We are blessed with a wealth of such "Folk" music.

Great project. Our canals have been neglected for years, yet they are / become a wonderful recreational asset and generate business and employment for canal boat hire companies.

Do you know if the local council will make the restored canal a conservation area?

It will be an amenity for the residents. Indeed the current sections being restored are closest to the local voters. A factor in the grants issued by the local council. But they are putting a lot of effort in project management. One of the videos (generally on youtube/cresbydotcom) is about wildlife like turtles and snakes.
